Project partners, led by Ingeniería del Entorno Natural, presented the results of four years of demonstrative adaptation work on Aleppo pine forests.

Held on 25 June at Chalet Fonseca in Albacete, home of the Albacete Institute of Studies, the workshop showcased interventions across arid Mediterranean (Murcia, Alicante, Albacete), coastal Mediterranean (Valencia, Castellón, Tarragona), and continental Mediterranean with mild winters (Teruel, Zaragoza). Experimental work tested hydrological improvements, biodiversity enrichment, post-fire regeneration, and assisted migration to anticipate range shifts.

Institutional support came from the Castilla-La Mancha Regional Ministry for Sustainable Development: Ms Lucía Plaza (Head of Service) opened; Ms Elena Gómez (Forest Engineer) presented on current Aleppo pine status; Ms Llanos Valero (Provincial Delegate) closed the event.

The workshop was streamed live, with welcome remarks by Mr Antonio Caulín (Director, Albacete Institute of Studies) and Prof. Jorge de las Heras (University of Castilla-La Mancha).

Recordings of talks are available on the project’s YouTube channel: XXX
