LIFE ADAPT-ALEPPO (LIFE20 CCA/ES/001809) has organized a seminar on the occasion of the III Meeting of the Climate Change Adaptive Forestry Network ( SilvApdat.net ), held on November 14 and 15, 2023 at the School Higher Technique in Agronomic and Forestry Engineering and Biotechnology from Albacete, with support from the ECOFOR group of the University of Castilla-La Mancha.
In the talks on the 14th, the demonstration plots of the LIFE project and forest management techniques and tools implemented were announced, for their transfer to researchers and specialist technicians in the field of adaptive forestry, including proposals that we approach the mitigation of global climate change to be replicated on a national scale both in Aleppo pine forests and other forest species.
On the 15th, it consisted of a field day, with a visit to the Sierra de los Donceles post-fire plots (Hellín, Albacete), where problems and solutions to the long-term impacts of climate change in the forestry sector were presented, and more specifically in the Mediterranean environment; as well as the transfer of forest management techniques for the adaptation of forest masses (especially Aleppo pine) to climate change.
